The European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists – EFFEA is an initiative of the European Festivals Association that offers emerging artists a platform to develop their career on an international level through festivals.

The object of funding is the research project eMotion Tracking by the Hungarian artist Tamer Vajda, in which he investigates the embodiment of emotions in musical performances in order to create, vice versa, structures in which sound is derived from movement.

Tamer Vajda is an hungarian composer, performer and interdisciplinary artist fascinated by gestures and movement. Sometimes even creating spaces where the human body can act as a musical instrument. Artistic research and psychology lie in the core of his interest. He experiments with narrative musical forms inspired by psychosomatics and embodied experiences.

The EFFEA residency programme brings together four international festivals: the Hungarian Cserje FESZT, the Latvian Sanusī Festival, the Slovakian Are you Free? Musicfestival and our Experimance Festival to promote Wajda’s artistic development and collaborative artworks. Tamer Wajda will be in Saarbrücken in July to develop a festival work together with dancer Anna Wiebke Färber in the context of his research project.

Anna Wiebke Färber is a contemporary dancer, dance teacher and choreographer currently working and living in Saarbrücken. Through performance and dance, she explores the possible relationship between movement and artificial intelligence and is interested in subtle and authentic movement that conveys emotions as real as possible. As a choreographer, she strives to create images as abstractions of what it means to be human. She works with associations to music, visual art and poetry as impulses to create a moving collage or labyrinth of human thoughts and emotions.
